Hello everyone,

It's March almost November, so I'd thought I would update the Roll-and-Write Christmas card with lessons learned from the past year.

Initially, I designed the card as a sort of booklet that could be taped shut, and sent off into the mail as a sort of post card. With that in mind, I had even ordered a small-ish quantity of the cards from my local printer. In practice, however, the tension of the folded card as well as the coating on the card both proved a problem for this plan, and I ended up sending them in envelopes anyway.

Now, a year of experience and 11 games later, I've returned to fix the issues that I'd been having with the card. I've changed the size to be slightly bigger to fit the (also very common) 5"x7" size. I have also changed the card to be a more traditional 'art on the front, rest of card empty for writing' design. The rules now come on an insert intended to be included in the card. Since I have made the jump from Adobe InDesign to the Affinity Suite, I've made minor alterations and improved the typography. Oh, and I rewrote the rules slightly to be more structured, changed around some sections to be more in line turn structure, and leave less unsaid.

Gentle reminder that yes, I am aware that it is the same art. No, it is not a completely new card for 2020. That was the original plan, but 2020 has been rough. From underselling projects to having to quit my Masters' programme to having to cancel a Kickstarter campaign, there is just no energy for it this year. Hopefully next year I can have a new card up, and have it available physically.
